It's 5:15 pm. You've forgotten that one ingredient for dinner. You went shopping Sunday, it's Tuesday and you were going to make this great dish. You have a couple of friends coming over, so it has to be perfect. You've had the spaghetti sauce cooking all day, but you forgot the noodles. You'll stop by and pick up the noodles on the way home. No big deal...except it is.
Turns out everybody forgot that one ingredient so the super market is packed. You're looking across the checkout aisles and there's only one person in the 15 items or less aisle. Woo hoo! This is what Charlie Sheen meant when he proclaimed "Winning!" You round the corner and realize why there's nobody else behind this woman with 4 children standing there. She took a full cart into the 15 items or less aisle. This is what's wrong with America. She thinks she is above the rules. It may not seem like a big deal. Lee, you're just going be a few minutes getting your food. Well, you're wrong.
If, let's call her Mary, isallowed to just bend the rules for this a little, it will lead to a complete downfall of society. Let me show you how this breaks down. Mary takes her 147 items into the 15 items or less aisle. Nobody says a word because she's a mother and is probably really stressed out. Good for her. She then gets by without having to abide by the rules there, so she goes out to her minivan and little Timmy is screaming at the top of his lungs, so she hurries up and loads up her minivan and instead of returning the cart to it's return area, she leave it sitting right behind her car, because today is her lucky day. The car in front of her has pulled out of the spot, so she has the pull through. Right behind her comes a person who sees her spot and thinks they can pull in, they start to pull in, and then they can't go because the cart's in the way. They decide to back up and get away from the cart. The car behind is a worry-wart. They see the person in front backing up and are afraid they are going to get hit, so they slam their car in reverse and back away as quickly as possible. Behind them, somebody's grandmother was crossing the street carrying a kitten as a gift for their sweet granddaughter. The person runs over them. Now grandma and the kitten are dead...all because Mary went in the 15 items or less aisle and nobody said anything. Now do us all a favor and make sure nobody goes through the aisle with too many items, or else a kitten and somebody's grandmother dies.
