It's day three...I've had a grand total of 33 carbs since Sunday. On the plus side, I never realized how hard it is to eat 2,000 calories when you cut carbs out. I've had soooo much ground beef and chicken in the past few days. And cheese, based on the diets I had been doing before, I really missed cheese.
Overall, I have noticed a slight decrease in my energy, but have not encountered the dreaded keto flu yet. For those of you that aren't aware, essentially, as your body switches from using carbs as energy to burning fat as energy, you become really sluggish for a few days. That is called the keto flu. I'm really hoping it's all worth it though, as I have that healthy wage sticking around.
So far, I'm down 13.4 pounds since signing up, although that's a bit misleading. I actually gained 6 pounds for the first two weeks, so I'm really down about 19.4 pounds in the past 7 weeks. That's a pretty great clip for me. I'm still keeping up with 30 minutes on the stationary bike at the Orlando Downtown YMCA every morning and my diet is now the keto diet, attempting to stay under 2,000 calories and under 20 carbs per day.
Throughout this getting healthy process, I have learned that carbs are the single most delicious thing on earth.
